To avoid significantly heightened hormone levels in the milk, we do not milk pregnant does (goats). Pregnancy (in all mammals) naturally produces heightened hormone levels. These are necessary to sustain the pregnancy. Many believe these naturally elevated hormone levels contribute to early development/ puberty in girls and facilitate other health issues.
