What's up with the "not for human consumption" deal?
In the state of Texas, there is not a license to make products from raw milk for human consumption available/ offered (exceptions- hard cheese aged for more than sixty days/ milk and yogurt sold at the farm).
There is a license available to make pet food ingredients from raw goat milk. We have that license.
Do YOU eat your products?
Why yes, we do eat our products, nearly everyday! But we cannot sell these products for human consumption. In accordance with the labeling requirements of Texas, all our products must be labeled not for human consumption.
Quality Assurance...
It is our #1 goal to create a safe quality product.
Our milk is tested monthly at the Tarrant County Health Services Milk Lab (same lab and test as Grade A Raw for Retail Dairies) and we hold ourselves to a higher standard than required by the state for Grade A Raw for Retail Dairies. Our monthly test results are posted on our lab report blog.
We also individually test each of our milkers monthly through the Heart of America lab for somatic cell count, butterfat, and protein. These results are posted on our lab report blog.
Each batch of milk is tested in our kitchen for coliforms. These results are also posted on our lab report blog.
All our products are made in our commercial farm kitchen using the utmost care to follow GMP standards and guidelines.
We have met and continue to meet the RAWMI common standards for the production of reliable, clean raw milk.
